Fiber Blowing

Installing optical fibre into pre-laid ducts using compressed air.

Fiber Blowing

Fibre blowing places fibre units into empty micro-ducts quickly and with little stress on the cable. It allows you to lay the duct first and add fibre capacity later. We use it for campus, estate and metro-style routes.

What we do

  • Inspection and pressure testing of the duct route
  • Blowing of fibre units over the planned sections
  • Labelling of ducts and cable ends
  • End-to-end continuity checks
  • Record of blown lengths and route

What we need from you to quote

  • Type and size of installed ducts and total route length
  • Number of bends and access chambers on the route
  • Number and type of fibre units required
  • Condition of duct, and whether it has been pressure tested
  • Site access and working-hours restrictions
